CTL 53 A Course

Main content start

Neurodiversity-Focused Course

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is excited to offer a new 1-credit course this winter, Thriving Academically at Stanford (CTL 53A), with a section that is specifically designed for neurodiverse students with documented or self-identified ADHD, learning disabilities/differences, autism or executive functioning challenges.  Join a community of like-minded peers to explore the unique and remarkable strengths associated with neurodiversity.  Every week you’ll be introduced to new neuro-affirming strategies and techniques that are especially suited to neurodiverse brains and will help you to improve your focus, executive functioning (e.g., time management, getting started, planning) and study skills.   Students will also have an opportunity to apply these new techniques outside of class through weekly accountability groups that will help them to reach their goals.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about neurodiverse brains and neuro-affirming techniques in a supportive environment.

When does the course meet?

The course will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 4:20 pm.  Tuesdays will consist of lectures and interactive activities. On Thursdays, students will meet with an accountability group where they can try out these techniques and use the group to help them achieve their goals.

How can I enroll?

Please reach out to Melissa, mtamas@stanford.edu, with questions or for a permission number.
