Group Coaching
Neurodiversity-Focused Group Academic Coaching
CTL is committed to supporting the educational success and empowerment of all students, especially those with unique learning needs. We are excited to offer a new group coaching program specifically designed for graduate and undergraduate students with ADHD, learning differences/disabilities (LD), and autism. Our Neurodiversity-Focused Academic Group Coaching supports students formally diagnosed with these conditions, as well as those who self-identify as neurodiverse.
Winter 2025 Group Coaching Request Form
What is group coaching?
Every week, from weeks 3 through 10, you will meet with a professional coach and 4–5 neurodiverse peers. Your group will have a specific assigned time that it will meet every week. It will meet for 60 minutes every week. Group members are expected to attend all 7 meetings to help contribute to the group’s overall success.
During weekly meetings, students will take turns to:
- identify goals you want to achieve, as well as topics or questions you want to discuss with the group
- give and receive advice on neurodiverse-friendly study habits and learning strategies
- share your experiences as a neurodiverse student at Stanford
- celebrate your successes–big and small
- receive support to keep you motivated
- identify new goals for the next week.
This is perfect for a student who is looking for a neurodiverse affirming and supportive community as well as accountability to help them meet their academic goals. You do not need an OAE referral to attend our groups; all brains are welcome!
If you have any questions or concerns about the group, you can email Melissa or email Savannah.
Students can join our coaching groups up through week 4. If it is too late to join our group, you can complete our quick interest form to receive updates on future term offerings. We’ll contact you when the group coaching request form is live.

What is neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity is a very broad and inclusive term that recognizes the natural and normal variability in human brains. It includes several conditions that can lead to differences in how students might think, learn, and interact. The most common conditions are ADHD, learning disabilities/differences, autism, anxiety and depression, however any brain-based differences that have both associated strengths and challenges qualifies as neurodiverse. The neurodiversity movement is about harnessing the strengths of neurodiverse individuals so that all types of brains have the opportunity to reach their full potential. It is a term that signals that all people—whether neurotypical, neurodivergent, or somewhere in between—deserve respect and inclusion.
