Alan Cheng

Lead Engineering Learning Consultant

Alan Cheng (he/him) is a PhD student in Computer Science. His research interests are in educational technology, human-computer interaction, and game design. Alan graduated summa cum laude with a BA and MEng in Computer Science from Cornell University, where he served as a TA for almost four years, and studied abroad in Kyoto for a year through the Kyoto Consortium for Japanese Studies. He then worked as a software engineer for two years before coming to Stanford. As a Peer Learning Consultant, Alan is excited to bring to students his extensive teaching experience, his knowledge of education and tech, and his personal experience balancing academics and well-being. In his spare time, Alan likes to play video games, study Japanese, and sing karaoke.
