Andrew Tan

Andrew Tan (he/him) is a senior majoring in English with an interdisciplinary focus in Biology. He is writing his honors thesis on the patient-physician dyad and the relationship between art and healing, combining his interests in writing and medicine. Since his sophomore year, he has served in various campus roles from science and tech editor at The Stanford Daily to research assistant in the English Department. He is currently a research assistant at the King Institute and tutors students from nearby Menlo-Atherton High School. The challenges he encountered while tutoring English pushed him to improve his teaching skills and to get involved at the Center for Teaching and Learning. Outside of his studies, he enjoys writing poetry, drinking tea and playing board games.
