Engineering Learning Consultant

Cesar (he/him) is a first-year M.S. in the Department of Civil Engineering, in the Sustainable Design and Construction (SDC) program. He is interested in the applications of AI and robotics in construction management, specifically computer vision, natural language processing, and haptic systems. He has previously conducted research in groundwater potential estimation in Peru using machine learning and crack detection solutions for earthquake-damaged masonry buildings at the University of Tokyo. He completed his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, with exchange programs at the University of Tsukuba and the University of Alberta.

As an Engineering Learning Consultant, Cesar is excited to teach students both soft and hard skills that will help his peers succeed in both industry and academia. He is particularly focused on helping international students, as well as members from the BIPOC and Latinx communities become more integrated in the engineering community at Stanford.
