Ian Harryman
Ian Harryman (he/him) is a 5th year PhD student in the Department of Earth System Science. His work is broadly centered around planetary health, with a particular focus on understanding climate adaptation strategies and health outcomes among subsistence-based and agrarian communities. His research is highly interdisciplinary and utilizes network models to better understand the relationship between climate and health. He earned a BA in Anthropology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and an MPhil in Social Anthropology from Cambridge University.
Ian is passionate about helping students find strategies they can utilize in both their professional and personal lives to address the challenges they may face and learn how to apply those strategies in various contexts. As a Peer Academic Coach, he hopes to facilitate the growth and development of students with different backgrounds and interests as they pursue their goals. He believes in the importance of finding balance in life and approaching problems as an opportunity for growth. Ian looks forward to learning from his peers and developing as a Peer Academic Coach.
