Become a Curriculum Designer

Graduate and professional students are invited to apply to work as a Peer Learning Consultant in the Curriculum Design division. As a Curriculum Designer, consultants will develop academic skills curriculum and content as well as student learning programming for Stanford students. PLCs in this division start at $29/hour and are expected to work a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 hours per week.

Division purpose

Curriculum Designers are responsible for helping Stanford undergraduate and graduate students learn about skills and strategies that will help them to reach their academic goals. To achieve this purpose, they create engaging presentations, workshops, handouts, and web-based resources. Curriculum Designers have the opportunity to develop novel academic skills resources and programming. Successful engagement will involve brainstorming and developing new ideas and updating existing materials to make them more accessible and engaging for students.

What you’ll do

Curriculum Designers work on a variety of projects to support academic skills education, which may include:

Designing and facilitating workshops on academic skills (for instance, time management, effective study strategies, note-taking approaches)
Creating asynchronous resources on academic skills, such as self-assessments and handouts
Collaborating with other Peer Learning Consultant divisions to create materials that will support their work (for instance, creating tools that can be used in Academic Coaching sessions)
Reviewing and updating existing academic skills resources
Assisting with academic skills outreach efforts, such as staffing open houses and other tabling events

Collaborate with other members of the Peer Learning Consultant program

Work independently and with minimal supervision
Manage their time effectively

Finalist Interviews: Qualified candidates will be contacted to participate in an interview with Curriculum Design leadership and team members
Admission: We will do our best to inform all candidates about a decision no later than two weeks after the interview. Successful candidates will be given 48 hours to accept the offer. Please note that the turnaround time between admission and onboarding could be relatively short.
