CTL ADHD and LD Support Program

The CTL ADHD/LD Success Program is currently full for spring quarter,  and the waitlist is now open. Completed applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis contingent upon program availability.

The CTL ADHD and LD Support Program provides eligible students with dedicated academic coaching and tutoring to address their unique educational needs and help them become self-directed learners. Click the button below to apply to the Spring 2024 program waitlist.

Spring 2024 Waitlist

Students who are unable to participate in the program are highly encouraged to book an Academic Coaching appointment at academicskills.stanford.edu at any time as an alternative. Once an appointment is booked, students can discuss the possibility of scheduling recurring meetings with their Academic Coach at their first meeting. Students also have access to general appointment tutoring and drop-in tutoring.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this program, students must be referred by their Disability Advisor at the Office of Accessible Education (OAE). The Disability Advisor verifies that the student is registered with the OAE with a documented learning disability or ADHD.

Program Requirements

Students will meet regularly with a dedicated Academic Coach. Academic Coaches help students with a wide range of academic skills, such as time management, studying for exams, staying motivated, and overcoming procrastination. During their first meeting with the Academic Coach, the student and the coach will decide how frequently to meet. Students typically meet with their coach weekly.

In addition to Academic Coaching, students will also be assigned a tutor for each course they request tutoring. Tutors offer personalized sessions to meet learners where they are, guide students in navigating course concepts, and share subject specific study strategies. After the initial meeting with the Academic Coach, students receive their personalized weekly tutoring schedule.

To be mindful of the Academic Coach and tutor's schedule, we ask that students cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours notice, except in cases of medical or disability-related emergencies. Repeated last-minute cancellations or absences from coaching or tutoring sessions may result in a student’s dismissal from the program. Read the program agreement for more information.

Additional Program Information

As part of the program, students will be able to receive weekly tutoring from a dedicated tutor for up to four hours per week and for up to two classes per quarter. Students are able to request tutoring for any of the courses CTL is currently supporting (full course list below) and we will do our best to fulfill tutoring requests for core and introductory courses in Data Science, Philosophy, and other statistics-based courses in Sociology and Symbolic Systems.

Spring Quarter Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis to accommodate any tutor or coaching requests submitted from the beginning of the quarter through week 4 (based upon availability). The last day to be able to request structured weekly tutoring for the quarter is Sunday, April 28 (Week 4). Unfortunately, tutoring requests after Week 4 cannot be matched.

Due to the current availability of tutors this spring, we are not able to take any additional requests for Economics and Chemistry tutoring. In the meantime, we encourage you to utilize general appointments or drop-in tutoring. More information on how to schedule appointment tutoring or visit drop-in hours can be found here: https://studentlearning.stanford.edu/tutoring
